Citi appoints Dr. Tooba Modassir as CHRO – India & Subcontinent

Citi India has appointed Dr. Tooba Modassir as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for India and the Subcontinent, a significant move in strengthening its HR leadership across the region. With a doctorate and over 20 years of HR experience across BFSI and professional services, Dr. Modassir specializes in leadership development, organizational design, diversity programs, and employee engagement.

Her role will encompass strategic HR leadership for Citi’s diverse businesses, including banking, wealth management, shared services, and technology centers. She will focus on aligning HR with Citi’s transformation agenda, ensuring workforce agility, and embedding global best practices.

A strong advocate of DEI and future-ready HR, Dr. Modassir will also lead employee wellbeing and change management initiatives. Her appointment reflects Citi’s emphasis on embedding people leadership into its India operations, which remain a strategic hub for the bank globally.
