Hitachi India appoints N. Venu as Managing Director to drive collaboration, digital transformation, and growth across its businesses.
Hitachi India has named N. Venu as Managing Director, effective June 2, 2025, as part of a broader leadership realignment that also sees Bharat Kaushal, Hitachi’s first Indian MD, become Executive Chairman, Hitachi India effective April 1, 2025. Venu will hold the MD role in addition to his current responsibilities as MD & CEO, Hitachi Energy India and Region Head, South Asia at Hitachi Energy. His mandate is explicit: deepen collaboration across roughly 28 Hitachi group companies in India, advance the Group’s Inspire 2027 plan, and accelerate the Lumada-led, digital-centric transformation by integrating IT and OT strengths to create customer value. With nearly four decades of experience, Venu has led Hitachi Energy in India since its 2019 formation, delivering strong growth, and has been active in industry leadership including serving as CII Karnataka chapter chair (2024–25). An Electrical Engineering graduate from NIT Warangal with executive education from IIM Ahmedabad, ISB Hyderabad, and IMD Switzerland, he is well placed to steer Hitachi’s India portfolio spanning rail, connected industries, energy, financial inclusion, e-education, and healthcare, prioritizing synergy, localization, and scaled execution in one of Hitachi’s most strategic growth markets.
