George Verghese appointed Managing Director, Kirloskar Industries

Kirloskar Industries Ltd (KIL) has appointed George Verghese as Managing Director for a five-year term (May 21, 2025–May 20, 2030), subject to shareholder approval. Verghese joined the Kirloskar Group in April 2021 as VP – Group HR, then served as CHRO and Chief of Staff at Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd (KOEL), where he was part of the core team credited with a strategic business turnaround. The Board’s resolution came at its May 20, 2025, meeting; Chairman Atul Kirloskar emphasized Verghese’s blend of strategy, operational execution, HR transformation, marketing, and culture. With 20+ years of leadership experience (including roles at Dell, Reliance Communications, Cummins), and degrees from XLRI Jamshedpur and College of Engineering, Munnar, Verghese takes charge as KIL focuses on portfolio stewardship and value creation across its investments. The appointment reflects a growing trend of people-and-operations leaders stepping into P&L roles to hardwire culture, execution, and governance into growth.
