Justin Besyk Appointed Interim Vice President of Grocery at Heritage Grocers Group

Justin Besyk has been appointed to guide grocery merchandising across all Heritage Grocers Group banners, reporting directly to Vince Gambino, Merchandising Group Vice President. In this role, Besyk will leverage data-driven insights to optimize category strategies, execute effective promotional planning, and deliver customer-centric value propositions that strengthen the company’s market position. His career in the grocery industry spans fifteen years, beginning as a bagger at Tony’s Fresh Market in Niles, Illinois. Over the years, he progressed through store-level supervisory and managerial positions, gaining hands-on experience in multiple departments including liquor, dairy, frozen, deli, and general grocery.

Besyk’s exceptional performance and strategic mindset enabled him to transition into category management, eventually becoming Director of Grocery. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago, combining academic knowledge with extensive operational experience. In this interim role, Besyk steps into leadership during a period of executive transition at Heritage, providing strategic direction to the merchandising team while the group refines its leadership structure and operational strategies. His appointment reflects Heritage Grocers Group’s commitment to leveraging both experience and innovation to maintain a competitive edge, ensuring exceptional value and shopping experiences across the communities it serves.
