Walmart Sourcing India has appointed Atreyee Chowdhury as Head of HR to lead talent strategy, inclusivity, and employee engagement in support of Walmart’s global sourcing operations.
Walmart Sourcing India, the global sourcing arm of Walmart, has named Atreyee Chowdhury as its new Head of Human Resources and People Partner. Chowdhury, a seasoned HR leader with more than 20 years of experience, brings expertise in workforce strategy, employee relations, and capability development. At Walmart Sourcing, she will lead HR initiatives that support global sourcing operations, talent pipelines, and employee engagement in India. The sourcing hub plays a critical role in Walmart’s global supply chain, linking suppliers in India with international retail markets. Chowdhury’s mandate includes building leadership capability, embedding inclusivity, and ensuring HR practices align with Walmart’s global values of service, integrity, and respect for individuals. Her appointment comes as Walmart strengthens its India operations to leverage the country’s manufacturing and sourcing strengths. Chowdhury’s leadership will be key in aligning HR systems with Walmart’s focus on scale, sustainability, and global competitiveness.
