Today’s business landscape is being transformed drastically by women entrepreneurs. From independent founders and freelancers to women-led startups and growing enterprises, women are building meaningful ventures across industries often remaining anonymous. They rarely get the visibility and recognition that men in business always have. To address this gap, Prospect Wiki is launching the Spotlight 2026: Women Entrepreneurs, a nomination-based recognition initiative aligned with Women’s Day.

This robust Spotlight will identify, review, and showcase women entrepreneurs who are independently building and leading their businesses, regardless of scale or sector.

What Is the Spotlight 2026: Women Entrepreneurs?

The Spotlight 2026: Women Entrepreneurs is a curated recognition program designed to highlight women-led businesses and independent founders through the Prospect Wiki platform. Neither is it an open directory listing, nor a popularity contest. Instead, it follows a structured nomination and review process to ensure credibility, clarity, and fairness.

Women entrepreneurs can nominate their own businesses for consideration. All nominations will be reviewed, and a final list will be curated based on defined criteria, including significant milestones or breakthroughs in their careers, exceptional leadership skills, ability to overcome challenges, positive impact on their respective industries, and contribution as role models for other women in business. Who Can Nominate?

The Spotlight welcomes self-nominations from:

• Women founders and co-founders
• Solopreneurs and freelancers running independent ventures
• Women-led startups and small businesses
• Home-grown or digital-first businesses with clear ownership

The initiative is inclusive by design to allow maximum coverage. Businesses do not need to be large or revenue-heavy to qualify. What matters is that the venture is independently run by a woman entrepreneur and demonstrates genuine business intent.

How the Nomination Process Works

The process is going to be straightforward and transparent:

1. Self-Nomination: Women entrepreneurs will submit their business details through the nomination process.
2. Evaluation & Review: Each nomination will be reviewed by the Prospect Wiki editorial team.
3. Shortlisting: Based on review outcomes, businesses will be shortlisted.
4. Publication: The full nomination list will be published in the last week of February.

The final Spotlight 2026: Women Entrepreneurs will be released on March 8 (Women’s Day).

A token nomination fee of ₹500 (Non – refundable) applies. This covers evaluation, editorial review, and publication activities associated with the Spotlight.

Last date to nominate is February 5, 2026.

All valid nominees will receive:

• Inclusion in the official Spotlight 2026: Women Entrepreneurs Nomination
• A Spotlight 2026: Women Entrepreneurs Nomination digital badge

• Public recognition across Prospect Wiki channels

Selection Criteria

Selection of the businesses to be featured in Spotlight 2026 will be based on:

• How the business has progressed so far, including any meaningful milestones, regardless of how big or small the business is.
• The founder’s role and involvement and how actively she is leading and running the business.
• The positive impact of the business, whether on customers, the industry, or the local community
• The founder’s journey and story and how it may inspire or represent other women entrepreneurs

Spotlight Winners

Shortlisted businesses featured in the Spotlight 2026: Women Entrepreneurs will receive:

• Featured placement in the Spotlight Recognition list
• A Spotlight 2026: Women Entrepreneurs digital badge

• Public recognition across Prospect Wiki channels
• A digital certificate
• A physical award (Optional)

Award Event

A grand recognition event is planned to be held in Salem, Tamil Nadu, India. Physical presence at the event will be optional, not mandatory. However, there are certain benefits associated with attending:
